Extending the validity period for the Certificate of Absence (COA) to a maximum of five years. February 23rd, 2024 On February 19, 2024, under the guidance of the President's Secretary, a meeting was held. Within this session, conversations were undertaken with Office on Missing Persons (OMP) and the Registrar General (RG) department to investigate the feasibility of extending the validity period for the Certificate of Absence (COA) to a maximum of five years.
Discussion with US Embassy Officials -On February 16, 2024 February 17th, 2024 On February 16, 2024, Mr. Jayantha Wickramasinghe, a Board member of the OMP and Dr. J. Thatparan, Executive Director of the OMP convened with officials from the Embassy of the United States of America. Among them were Matthew Hinso, Political Officer, and Jennifer Hendrixson White, Senior Professional Staff Member. The purpose of the meeting was to engage in a discussion concerning the ongoing progress of the Office of Missing Persons (OMP).
