Mr. Mahesh Katulanda (Senior Attorney-at-Law) has been reappointed as the Chairman of the Office on Missing Persons Sri Lanka (OMP) for three years, (2024 to 2027). Three other board members have appointed along with chairperson, namely Mrs. Sithy Dane Arfa Thasim (Provincial High Court Judge, retired), Mr. Thambiaiah Yogarajah (Labour Commissioner, Retired), and Dr. Ajith Tennakoon (Forensic expert). The Present Board Members who are Mr. P.M.W. Sampath Perera (Attorney-at-Law), Mr. Madhawa Jayawardhana (Attorney-at-Law), and Mr. Jayantha Wickramasinghe (DIG, Retired) will continue to be board members of OMP.
The commencement ceremony for the new board was held on 3rd of July 2024 at the OMP premises. The Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Nihal Ranasinghe, and Additional Secretaries Mr. Rohana S. Hapugaswatte and Mr. P. Kuganathan graced the occasion.
